After a 35 year advertising and journalism career, Karin
studied website design and development and was certified as a website developer
by Kennesaw State University where she continues to follow classes to keep up
with the ever-changing WWW.
The first website that Karin began to work on was developed by her
brother-in-law Rich. Karin has expanded on his initial design to reflect
the ever increasing diversity of activity undertaken by
The Cobb Land Trust Inc.
While development of
Froghaven News Online began, Karin
started work on a site for Larry's insurance adjusting business,
Adjustment Services, Inc., and building links from other
appropriate sites that referenced it. Froghaven News Online first resided on six
different websites and appeared to be one through links. Now it has a home of
it's own.
The Georgia Perennial Plant Assoc. already had a webmaster,
with whom Karin worked as the organization contact. Now she is able to
better communicate the needs of the group as well as assist in developing new
pages to add to the site.
Courtyards of Vinings
Homeowners Association was the first client of Karin's web development business
and others have followed. Karin recently developed a site for
Marquis Management, the property managers of
Courtyards, who also manage a number of other properties in the metro area.
A natural alliance for Karin is
Scottsdale Farms Garden Center in
Alpharetta, GA. The needs of this destination nursery in Alpharetta are to develop more uses
for their existing website, enhance the current site, and most importantly
enhance their search engine results. Having a website is great.
Having customers find it is even better.
Website of friend and garden
designer Sandra at Dogwood Knoll is just starting to develop.
Her site will introduce many gardeners in North
Georgia to her depth of expertise on designing with native plants.
We just introduced the site
http://www.haganmasonry.com for
friend and stone mason Harry Hagan, who has done so much work in our gardens and
throughout metro Atlanta.
Artists Julie and David Boone each needed
websites for their own interwoven enterprises. Julie operates Wildcat on a
Wing http://www.wildcatonawing.com
which is a fine craft gallery in North Georgia offering a diversity of
hand made American pieces. David makes cedar and copper birdhouses,
feeders, and wind directionals. They are featured on
http://www.wildcatworks.com .
Karin's niche seems to be picking up the web
sites of young developer's who build it and lose interest in the boring
maintenance and updates required after the fun of the creative process. They
often do not have the expertise to focus on the background coding of the site
that enhances the ability of search engines to index their pages.
Now, Karin is networked with graphic designers, and other
resources who bring a diversity of expertise to the table to satisfy the needs
of both small and large clients.
