'Elegans Nana' summer

This lovely conifer provides an island of green and grows slowly. The color changes to a darker green with small brown cones for winter interest.

'Elegans Nana' winter

Cryptomeria japonica 'Globosa Nana'

Bloom predicted size: 2-3 ft. tall x 3-4 ft. wide in 10 years
                                                    ultimately could be 16' x 23'

Elegant is the word that comes to mind for this conifer with it's tightly rope-like branches of small green leaves. Birds seem to love the dense growth, as they frequently nest inside.  It sits in full sun, near pavement, in improved soil.

Cryptomeria japonica 'Tenzan Yatsabusa'

Predicted 12" x 12" was quickly reached in the garden.  Although moved to a new location, it is still thriving after many years. It sits on high ground, in considerable shade during the summer, frequently overgrown by asclepias.
